The back side of the material is coated with a coating that perfectly scatters light, making transfer prints saturated and contrasting when backlit. The material is very light and pleasant to the touch. It presents its full potential when backlit. However, it can be displayed without backlighting, while maintaining the color separation of the individual elements of the print.
